Core modules - 120 credits Required
Introduction to the core principles and practices of cyber security, including threat assessment, risk management, and basic security measures to protect information systems.
Explores various types of cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and the countermeasures used to prevent or mitigate these threats. Topics include malware, network attacks, and intrusion detection systems.
A substantial project that involves applying advanced computing techniques to a real-world problem. Students will conduct research, design, implement, and evaluate a solution to demonstrate their comprehensive skills.
Elective modules - 60 credits Required
An introduction to programming languages and tools used in data science, focusing on Python and its applications for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
Covers mathematical foundations necessary for data science, including statistics, linear algebra, and calculus, with an emphasis on their applications in data analysis and modeling.
Explores technologies and methodologies for managing and analyzing big data using cloud computing platforms. Includes topics on data storage, processing frameworks, and scalable computing solutions.
Provides an introduction to machine learning techniques and algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning. Emphasis on practical applications and hands-on experience with machine learning models.
